With The Force Awakens out on Thursday night, why wouldn’t you promote the heck out of Star Wars: Battlefront? Today Electronic Art’s Origin launched a 33% off sale cutting the price of the Standard Edition of Battlefront by $20. That’s an impressive discount for an AAA not even a month out from release.
- Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition (Origin Key) — $89.98 (list $120)
- Star Wars: Battlefront Deluxe Edition (Origin) — $46.66 (list $70)
- Star Wars: Battlefront Standard Edition (Origin) — $39.99 (list $60)
As seen above, the discount works on all three PC editions of the game with 33% off the Standard and Deluxe Editions and 25% off the Ultimate Edition. The discount is set to run through next week Monday, December 21st at 10AM Pacific.
Standard vs. Deluxe vs. Ultimate
If you’re not quite sure which Edition is the best to get, we’ll break it down for you. The Standard Edition is obviously the cheapest way to go, and without any Season Pass content available yet, a perfectly reasonable way to go.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is just the Standard Edition plus a few extra in-game goodies. Most of the Digital Deluxe DLC is unlocked after your character gets higher rank in the game (like a level up). You’ll get instant access to Han Solo’s Blaster, the Ion Detonator, and MPL Ion Torpedo before a Standard Edition player does, plus you get two exclusive emotes: Ion Shock and Victory. EA Origin has a monopoly on the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game, so this is the first and only discount seen on it so far.
The Ultimate Edition is only 25% off but still a good discount. Basically the Ultimate Edition of the game gets you all the Digital Deluxe content and the Season Pass (although there is no Season Pass Content out until early 2016). The Season Pass isn’t discounted anywhere, but if you buy this discounted Ultimate Edition, it’s $6.66 cheaper than buying the Digital Deluxe Edition of the game and the $50 Season Pass separately.
