Pokken Tournament Wii U Bundle and Controller Announced for Japan

As a western gamer, it’s hard not to envy the folks in Japan. They often get some of the coolest things before everyone else, and sometimes even exclusive stuff that leaves the west feeling a tad neglected.

One such treatment is the availability of the Pokken Tournament Wii U Bundle. You’ve probably never heard of it before, because it never existed prior to recently.

The Japanese website of Pokken Tournament updated to include this bundle, which comes with a black 32GB Wii U system, a copy of Pokken Tournament, a special booklet, and a cool Dark Mewtwo amiibo card.

The bundle will become available on March 18, 2016 for 36,000 yen. Alongside the bundle, there’s also a special controller available, which features the same layout as the arcade version of the game with a few additional buttons. The controller is listed at 3,480 yen, and will have to be bought separately.

The North American website of Pokken Tournament isn’t offering any goodness like this, and still lists the game for Spring 2016. The amiibo card, thankfully, is included with all the first run copies of the game.

It’s unclear whether or not this bundle will make it to the western market, but given the popularity of the Pokemon franchise, Nintendo may be tempted to release the bundle a few months after the release of the game in the western market.
