Following the pleasantly surprising success of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake collection, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if other publishers followed suit and released their own collections for famous franchises. One of those publishers may just be Ubisoft, giving the Assassin’s Creed franchise a similar treatment.
One eagle-eyed fellow on NeoGAF managed to spot something that hints at a possible Assassin’s Creed Collection. Apparently, Ubisoft have registered a new domain that reads exactly that: Assassin’s Creed Collection.
The domain was registered on December 12, and the user notes that the website is not live for the time being.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has been admittedly a see-saw experience, sometimes delivering amazing experiences (Assassin’s Creed II) while other times disappointing severely (Assassin’s Creed: Unity). Nevertheless, a remastered collection of previous generation AC games isn’t something that many gamers would overlook.
This year’s Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate managed fairly high ratings and redeemed the errors of its predecessor quite well. The future of the series, and the direction in which it’s heading however still remains unclear, as many critics still point out how familiar the formula has become.
It wouldn’t be a bad idea to break away from the annual Assassin’s Creed release and instead focus on delivering a remastered collection of some of the golden generation AC titles.
