System Shock 3 Devs Looking into Virtual Reality, Platform Choices

System Shock 3 might have a virtual reality experience attached to it! Also, the developers are looking into console versions too.

System Shock 3 was originally revealed by the developer Otherside Entertainment when they put up a teaser page on their website a couple of days ago.

The countdown on the teaser ended and got replaced by a newsletter sign up. When you sign up for the newsletter, you are directed towards a survey relating to the game. It has been revealed through the survey that the developers might be weighing the platforms to release the game on.

More than that, the survey reveals that they might actually be considering virtual reality experiences for System Shock 3 too!

In the very last question that the ex-Looking Glass developers have asked you to “rate your interest in virtual reality gaming,” choosing between the scale of one to ten.

This is a pretty clear suggestion that if the fans are interested, they will bring the game to VR. Needless to say, with a game like System Shock, it will be one of the most chilling experiences for virtual reality enthusiasts.

Moreover, when the last game in the series came out in 1999, it was released for Microsoft Windows, Linux, Dreamcast, DOS and Mac OS. This time around, the developers are looking to expand beyond the realm of PC gaming.

In the survey in question, they have also asked the fans to choose your preferred gaming machine from a list including Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Mac. They also left a section titled “other” for obvious reasons.

There isn’t much else to report on in relation to the survey, except maybe the fact that they are also asking your age to gauge the volume of returning fans.

Now that the game is official, Otherside has also put up a new image featuring SHODAN, the AI on the website of System Shock 3.
