We speculated it only a couple of hours ago, and now the developers of Fable Legends have officially confirmed that they have delayed the game’s open beta to spring 2016.
“We didn’t anticipate just how big Fable Legends is becoming,” reads the announcement where Lionhead Studios went on to say that although it is going to be disappointing for many to see that the game ois not coming out to the public beta in holidays, there are reasons behind it:
Fable Legends is coming together well and it’s a lot of fun. But we think that we can make it even better. So we’ve decided to extend our closed beta to continue to listen to feedback from our players and add features and polish that will make a real difference. This means Fable Legends won’t release into open beta this holiday as previously announced.
Thereon, the developers explain what made the game bigger than their anticipation and reiterate the number of features that they have already shared with us like an “innovative multiplayer” with RTS and RPG elements, and seamless use of gear on Xbox One and Windows 10.
However, the bottom line here is that they need more time to bring Legends up to the mark all of you are expecting from it, and in order to achieve that, Lionhead Studios has announced:
To achieve our aspirations for Fable Legends, we’ve moved our open beta release to spring of 2016.
This is also evident of the fact that Legends is taking up a lot of their energies than expected – which is partly a good thing – and also the reason why the developers are not working on Fable 4. Instead, they say that all their resources are currently allotted to Legends.
The game’s open beta being released in Spring 2016 means we will get the commercial release sometime around the end of next year’s first half, don’t you think?
