The upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will honor the work and contributions of Amy Hennig; Naughty Dog has promised.
In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games; Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann spoke about how the studio decided to work on Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and how it will commemorate Amy Hennig’s contributions.
According to Druckmann, he initially thought that he was done with Uncharted series. After the completion of The Last of Us, he thought that they would shift to something else, but was asked to step in as a co-director to work on the upcoming iteration.
For me, I thought I was done with Uncharted, I thought, we did The Last o Us, and we’re gonna move to something else. […] And then we were asked to step in as directors for the project, and it was a shift. It was OK; we have to enter this world. Let’s enter the world where we crank it up to eleven.
Continuing, Druckmann attributed the success of Uncharted series to a combination of many amazing things including the contributions of Amy Henning who left Naughty Dog last year and joined Electronic Arts in order to work on a new Star Wars game.
According to Druckmann, Amy started something amazing and the team is trying to honor that by wrapping up the series in a way that the fans will love.
Again, there’s so many amazing people that it was just a perfect combination for this thing to come together, and I gotta give props to Amy [Hennig] as well. She helped starting something amazing, and we are really trying to honor that. We’re trying to honor those three games, and say, here’s a beautiful finish that I think fans are gonna love.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is slated to release on Mar. 18, 2016 exclusively on Playstation 4.
