Microsoft and Lionhead Studios are preparing to share more information regarding the release date of upcoming Fable: Legends in a few weeks time.
The game is one of the most anticipated Xbox One console-exclusive and many had hoped to see it launch or at least head into an open beta this year.
Game Informer recently reached out to Microsoft to know more about the possible release window of Fable: Legends or some information regarding an open beta.
A Microsoft representative told the publication that the studio continues to expand the closed beta and everyone is hard at work to make sure that the game is playable to everyone. The studio also promised to share more information in coming weeks:
As a service-based title in closed beta, we’re always working to make sure that when we open ‘Fable Legends’ to everyone, that it’s a great gameplay experience. We are continuing to expand our closed beta and will have more details to share in the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
Fable: Legends is scheduled to release on Xbox One and Windows 10 as a free-to-play title. The game will support cross-play between the two platforms with one player assuming the role of villain and controlling all the traps and enemies while another team controlling different heroes in order to bring down the villain.
In related Fable news, Lionhead Studios has confirmed that Fable III is now ‘ready to install’ on Xbox One consoles via Backward Compatibility. The studio also shared information regarding Fable IV saying that the current focus and energy is directed to complete and release Fable: Legends which is sort of a spin-off title.
Do you think we will be able to get our hands on Fable: Legends by the end of 2016 or a little earlier than that? Let us know!
