For fans of Hitman, mark February 12, 2016 on your calendars. This will be the date for the PlayStation 4 beta test, with PC players getting interest a week later on February 19.
This has been revealed in a new trailer which you can watch above. As with other Betas, to guarantee access to the Beta you have to pre-order the game to guarantee access.
In the Beta, it will take Agent 47 back to the beginning. The setting will be twenty years into the past at a top-secret ICA recruitment and training facility. The mission revolves around how Agent 47 was recruited and when he met long-time handler, Diana Burnwood.
In the trailer we see some teasers of the setting as well as a voice over, setting up the test that Agent 47 is a part of. While we don’t see any actual gameplay, the new screens included do give some clues. They suggest that if you’ve played previous Hitman games then you will be in familiar territory.
With this release having a few controversies, including the change in pre-order price IO and Square Enix will want the testing to go smoothly, and to catch the interest of the fans. In some more good news, for PlayStation 4 owners at least the console will be getting exclusive content, with Agent 47 hunting down the Sarajevo Six. These will be six former mercenaries all guilty of war crimes that will be hiding across the game’s six regions.
