Update: We have updated the article with a new gameplay footage for The Following.
Original Story: According to the official Twitter account for Dying Light, The Enhancement update will be free for all. That means players with and without the season pass are getting the update for free.
The Enhancements update is free to both season pass and non-season pass holders. https://t.co/l7s6Yn0fe6

The weird part is that the official website says that players will need the season pass for The Enhancement update. It makes the while situation a bit confusing.
Dying Light: The Following – Enhanced Edition will be released next year that will bring new an enhanced version of the game to the existing player base. The Following expansion won’t be free for all but the update that brings improved versions of the Bozak Horde and Be the Zombie modes, as well as the Cuisine & Cargo challenge missions and Ultimate Survivor Bundle, is free.
The Following will be sold as a standalone DLC.
According to Techland:
We didn’t want to follow a beaten track and just re-release our game in a new wrapping with the current DLC added on. That’s why for the last half year we’ve been working on a ton of enhancements that we’re now going to make available to everyone. We’re adding bonus post-game content, a Nightmare difficulty level, nearly 100 new animations, new NPC models, advanced AI behaviors, and more. One year after the original release, Dying Light will be even bigger.
This is a great move by Techland, one that other developers should follow as well. Re-releasing games with improvements should come free for those who own the base game.
