The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not the End of The Witcher, Reveal CD Projekt Red

After the success of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt it is safe to assume that we’ll get a sequel sometime in the future. The questions are though, when will this be and will we have to wait too long?

In an interview with Polish TV station VN24 BiS which has been translated by GamePressure Cd Projekt Red’s CEO Adam Kicinski made it clear that this is not the last we have seen of The Witcher:

“It’s too early to talk about it, but it’s not like we’re forgetting about this brand – that’s understandable. (…) It wouldn’t be fair towards the fans. We work within this universe for over a dozen years now and I don’t think it’s going to be the end of it.”

For now though, the company are working on Cyberpunk 2077, which was also mentioned in the interview:

“The project is even more ambitious than we first planned (…) we need to create a game that will be even more successful. (…) We have a long way ahead of us to reach the biggest commercial successes in the world. Sure, many people consider The Witcher 3 to be the best game in the world this year, but this is not a game that broke any sales record.”

So CD Projekt Red are going to be very busy in the coming years, and we can’t forget that 2016 will also bring us the Blood and Wine DLC for The Witcher 3 too, which is said to offer another 20 hours of gamplay.
