While Star Wars Battlefront may not have been the game some hoped, it still provides a good Star Wars experience. Now this experience is being extended with the release of the Battle of Jakku DLC release.
For those who pre-ordered Star Wars Battlefront, the DLC has started to be unlocked. This required a code that you will have either had on your receipt, or through an email. If you lost this code then you will have a little longer to wait until the DLC is free for everybody. This will be next week on December 8.
For those who have met all the conditions for the DLC, they can now enter the Battle of Jakku. This battle takes place on the remote desert planet after the Battle of Endor which saw the Rebels gain a major victory over the Imperial forces.
This DLC is being used to tease Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is released in cinemas this month. Taking place 29 years before the events in the movie it reveals what happened to the Star Destroyer that we see in the trailer for the film.
The Battle of Jakku brings two new maps to the game, as well as a new game mode Turning Point. This mode features a 20 on 20 battle featuring vehicles and control points.
When the game downloads you’ll find that it is a 1GB in size so while its not a huge file it will still take some time. Hopefully the wait will be worth it.
