Geoff Keighley has been busy this week trying to get people excited about the Game Awards 2015. One piece of news that he has shared is that Hideo Kojima may be at the awards.
With an announcement about the Oculus Rift and other exclusive footage such as the Rise of the Tomb Raider DLC its fair to say that Keighley has been working hard to keep anticipation high. When doing a Periscope session, he shared some news that may be a lot more interesting than anything else.
As you can see in the video above, when a fan asked if Hideo Kojima would be at the awards, Geoff Keighley says that Kojima has been invited to the awards:
“I’ve been talking to Hideo and we hope that he will be a part of the celebration”
Whether this would just be as part of the audience itself, or to make any announcement on his future is not known. At this point he may not be there at all.
After all of the controversy with Konami after the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, Kojima has been enjoying time away from the spotlight. If he is at the awards this is likely to get many long term fans watching just to see if he gives a clue as to his future plans.
What we normally see from the Game Awards though are trailers and some announcements exclusive to the event. Even if Hideo Kojima did reveal his future plans, we probably won’t learn much on the night anyway.
