Fans of Dying Light will currently be waiting for the big release of The Following DLC, but it appears the release is going to be so big that it is causing a price change. Not only will the change hit the price of The Following itself, but also the Season Pass.
To Techland’s credit they have given the announcement early, revealing that the price increase for the Season Pass will be coming December 8. This may of course see a sudden rise in purchases before that date, which could be seen to be a fairly shrewd marketing ploy.
Due to the increased scale of the project, we needed to revise the pricing that we announced back in August, and so we want to let you know that Dying Light: The Following will be priced at $19.99 / €19.99 / £15.99.
As promised back in August, our expansion will still be free for all Dying Light Season Pass holders. However since the Season Pass will now include this bigger-than-anticipated addition, we needed to adjust the price accordingly.
Starting December 8th 2015, the Season Pass will be sold at $29,99 / €29.99 / £23.99. We didn’t want this to come as a surprise to you, so we’re announcing it in advance. This price change will not affect players who already own the Season Pass.
While the price change is $5 for the DLC and an extra $10 for the season pass isn’t going to break the bank, it is still a change that will be noticeable. With these changes, The Following will have to deliver something worthy of the increase in price or gamers may wonder what the increase in price was needed for.
