The Witcher 3 Still Providing CD Projekt Red with Big Profits
It will come as no surprise to fans of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, but the game has been a huge success for CD Projekt Red. In fact it is still continuing to be a success for the company well after the initial release.
In presenting their financial results for the third fiscal quarter of the year, they revealed that it has been a record-high quarter for the company, revealing:
- CD Project Group had revenues of 113,2 million PLN and a net profit of 40,4 PLN in the third quarter.
- Cash flow amounted to 139,3 PLN
- This was the best third quarter the Group had had in its 20 year history through net profit. This was only second to the original release of The Witcher 3.
- Cash flows in the third quarter were higher than any other third quarter in the company’s history.
“During the third quarter of 2015, our net profitability within the videogame development segment reached an excellent level of 45% of sales revenues. These stellar results could not have been achieved had The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt not been an excellent product. To date, the game has garnered over 250 awards, including a record number of 7 Golden Joysticks, one of the most esteemed awards in the industry, and became one of the most popular and best rated games released in recent years,” says Piotr Nielubowicz, Vice President of the Board, CD PROJEKT. “After the period of great sales during the summer quarter, we’re looking forward for the hot Holiday sales period that’s just about to start.”, adds Nielubowicz.
So this is very good news for CD Projekt Red and the CD Projekt Group. For gamers, this will lead to even bigger releases in the future starting with Cyberpunk 2077.
