What did the Reviews Reveal About Fallout 4? Is it a Hit?

Fallout 4 is released officially tomorrow, and with the embargo officially released reviews have been revealed and things are looking good. While some people have had the game arrive early, for the ones still patiently waiting for the game to unlock (like most PC players) this is good news.

Reddit is one place where people are watching the reviews with interest where they compiled a list which includes the following scores:

  • Gamespot: 9
  • Polygon: 9.5
  • IGN: 9.5
  • PC Gamer: 88
  • Game Informer: 9
  • Gamesradar: 5/5
  • God is a Geek: 9
  • Xbox Achievements: 9
  • Push Square: 9
  • Game Revolution: 4.5/5
  • Playstation Universe: 9.5
  • US Gamer: 4.5/5
  • Destructoid: 7.5
  • Escapist: 4.5/5
  • VideoGamer: 9
  • Gamestar: 87

To get a more comprehensive look at the reviews VG247 have put together a good list of sites as well as provided the links to the reviews which will allow you to also read them. Looking at the scores though the answer seems to be that we do indeed have a hit on our hands. The start of the game may be slow, and it is described as a “hardcore” Fallout game, but this is exactly what people want and need.

With Fallout 4 being a game that won’t be completed quickly, this is definitely one that people are going to be obsessing about. I for one will know more when my PC version unlocks in a few hours, but from watching a stream of the game for a few hours today, I know I’ll be enjoying myself when it comes to my chance to exit the Vault.
