Black Ops 3 Crashes, Black Screen, Errors, Tweaks, Performance, Bugs and Fixes
Call of Duty Black Ops 3 has been in development for relatively a long time and have high expectations associated with it. The game managed to secure more pre-orders than Advanced Warfare along with decent reviews.
The good news is that PC community hasn’t received the short end of the stick this time as players are allowed to tweak stuff to their liking and there is also the support of dedicated servers. Good thing right?
Overall the game is looking great, but is definitely resource hungry. So if you don’t have a beast of a PC, i will recommend toning down settings a bit to get better performance. And if your facing some issues and looking for fixes, we have the list of most common issues along with the possible fixes.
#1 Black Ops 3 – Black Screen Fix
A lot of users have reported that they are getting black screen once the game starts up. You need to find config.ini file in your Black Ops 3 directory and then adjust the resolution to that your screen supports.
If you can’t find the resolution option, copy the config file from here and save the changes. If you don’t have any config file in your Black Ops 3 folder, try verifying your game files.
If nothing works, you can always create a new one. Open a new file with notepad, copy the code mentioned in the link above and save it as config.ini in players folder.
#2 Black Ops 3 – Game Freezes after Logo/Intro Video
First thing you can try is delete the intro video file (make sure you make a back up of them before deleting) that goes by the name of “bo3-global_logo_logosequence.mkv”. You can also choose to rename it as both will have the same effect.
If that doesn’t work for you, open your config.ini file and change 4 in the following code to 2.
//Thread count for handling the job queue
WorkerThreads = “4” // 2 to 4
#3 Black Ops 3 Error code: A.B.C.-.-.F.G.-.-.-.K.-.-.N.-.-.Q.-.S.-.-.-.-.X.-.-. Fix
If you are using PS4, restart it and the problem should be resolved. Just keep in mind that error could also pop up if multiplayer servers are offline so in that case, wait is the only option you have.
#4 Black Ops 3 Startup Crash Fix
There are a few things you can try to resolve this issue. First, make sure you have the latest version of GPU drivers installed. If that’s not an issue, try disabling Steam Overlay.
Still no luck? If you have any digital video recorders running in the background, quit them and try again.
#5 Black Ops 3 – Error: Lobby is not joinable
If there is no service issue from Treyarch’s end, it must be your ports/NAT or firewall blocking the connection. You should make sure that the game has an added exception in your firewall (you can also disable it while gaming if you can afford to).
Also, make sure that the relevant ports aren’t blocked.
#6 Black Ops 3 – Performance Issues with i5
Like i said before, Black Ops 3 is resource hungry and there have been a lot of reports about stuttering even on an i5 CPU. Your best bet for now is to reduce the settings to get max performance. Hopefully, Treyarch will take notice of the issue and we will get a fix or workaround.
#7 Black Ops 3 Crashes With Display Drivers has Stopped Working
The error is self explanatory. Either you don’t have the latest version of the GPU drivers or they have not been configured properly. In the both the cases, you need a fresh driver install and a PC restart to make the game work normally.
#8 Black Ops 3 – How to Fix Out of Memory Issue
If you are facing memory related issues, you should try these steps to resolve the issue.
#9 Black Ops 3 – Graphics Bug Yellow Flashes
Some users have reported that they are getting yellow flashes specially during the multiplayer. If you are a victim too, make sure that you have the latest game-ready drivers installed.
Some users have also told that disabling Order Independent Transparency in graphics options resolved the issue for them.
