In Rise of the Tomb Raider one of the things people wanted to see were more actual tombs. It looks like we are getting plenty of them in the latest games with plenty of puzzles and dangers waiting in the darkness.
In the latest “Woman vs. Wild” video we are shown clips of some of the tombs Lara will face as well as what she can do in them. Interestingly they mention the translation system which will feature three languages for her to learn. The more translations she can perform; the more tombs will be unlocked to be explored.
Another impressive aspect of the tombs is the size of them which looks to be expanded in Rise of the Tomb Raider. This means that not only puzzles are awaiting Lara in there, but also the chance for more combat and more environmental danger as you explore the higher regions of the area to find your way around and solve the puzzles.
Will more tombs be a positive move for Rise of the Tomb Raider? We’ll have to see how well they are received, and how they fit in the game as a whole. If these environments are just shoehorned into the game to answer the criticism of their being a lack of tombs, will they please the fans?
With the success of Halo 5: Guardians Microsoft will be looking for more success from this timed exclusive as well possibly enticing more people to make the move to Xbox One to play the game. This will depend on how well the game is received and if PlayStation 4 owners will be willing to wait a year until the game is released on their console.
