Electronic Arts have been talking about their successes at a recent earnings presentation, and in doing so revealed some details about Star Wars Battlefront. This includes what to expect in terms of DLC.
In the presentation EA COO Peter Moore teased details of four expansions packs that will be coming to the game that will add “new universes” to the game. Typically not many details were given as to what we can expect:
“What we’ve announced is four extra packs over the next 12-18 months coming post launch. You’ll see new universes, you’re gonna see new player actions, obviously new weaponry as well.”
If Star Wars Battlefront follows the DLC model used with the Battlefield releases then we’ll receive weapons, armour, and maps that will be added to the game. These will cost around $15 dollars each, or be purchased as part of the Season Pass which is priced at $50. This pass gives players new content two weeks before release as well as the exclusive “Shoot First” emote.
With more details on this being promised in the next few week, we’ll probably learn more before the actual release of the game. At $50 though this is an expensive Season Pass and gamers will obviously be looking for content that makes it worth paying out such a high amount.
Launching November 17 on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One the release is timed to coincide with the build-up of Star Wars: The Force Awakens which fans are already eagerly awaiting. Hopefully there aren’t any disappointments from Battlefront to spoil the hype.
