Sony are slowly starting their e-sport platform, opening it in countries like Spain and Portugal in a controlled manner as a testing ground. Today they revealed that France will also be getting their own league too.
Today, Sony France revealed on the French PlayStation Blog the details of their PlayStation Plus League. This will be focused on players using the PlayStation 4 platform for competitive play.
Games included in this launch will be:
- FIFA 16 from Electronic Arts
- Ultra Street Fighter IV Capcom
- Electronic Arts Battlefield Hardline
- Namco Bandai Project Cars
- PES 2016 Konami
- Trials Fusion Ubisoft
- Mortal Kombat X Warner Bros.
- Rocket League Psyonix
- Sony Computer Entertainment Driveclub Europe
Each of these games will have their own dedicated championship with traditional Seasons and Division set up so that players can be matched up with opponents at a similar skill level. Each league will be looked over by “professionals” who will help to decide how best to run the league.
The blog also reveals that the finals for the league will be held at the Paris Game Week that is held October 28 to November 1 at Porte de Versailles in Paris. The prize will be € 20,000. Registration for the league can be done on the league page. This is obviously in French and will be a league for that country. Terms and Conditions will apply for anybody wanting to take part.
What is interesting about these leagues that are popping up is the fact that this is a testing ground before moving into other bigger territories. In the future there is no doubt that this will come to countries like North America, where it will undoubtedly be very popular.
