The game’s actual release is 27th October, still 12 days away, but the preload ensures that those who pre order the digital version of the game can have it downloaded well in time to be able to play the minute the game becomes available on launch day.
The size of the game is expected to be around 60GB, out of which 8-9GB will be for a Day-One patch. Owners of the physical copy of the game will have to download the patch, which is essential to play multiplayer, after installing the game from the disc. Microsoft recently announced a promotion for early adopters of the game for which this Day One patch will need to be downloaded.
Halo 5: Guardians, an Xbox One exclusive, is the fifth game of the Master Chief saga in the Halo games series.
