One of the important aspects of games is the ability to customise your player. Making your player stand out from the crowd makes you feel like they are just not another carbon copy of everybody else.
This seems to have been a worry for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, with a Twitter user for some reason believing that this would not be available in the multiplayer modes in the game. Thankfully David Vonderhaar Studio Design Director at Treyarch replied to clear up any misunderstanding:
@RobsStang You should perpetuate the myth that their is no character customization in MP and just ignore everything I’ve said about it. +

He also shared a picture to further emphasise that customisations would be available. Just how much customisation you would need is questionable though, you don’t want to stand out too much to the other players or you could be an easy target.
It seems odd that people would think that there is no customisation in multiplayer as this has always been an integral part of these types of games. Even if it is just a team insignia and paintwork on the weapons you carry, there has always been a chance to add your own little flair to your fighter. The fact that we now have specialisations adds a whole new level to the character too, adding some interesting skills.
With this Twitter conversation at least we now know there is nothing to worry about. You’ll be able to customise your character before you head out onto the battlefield and shoot your opponents.
