Football is a popular sport all around the world, but in America, where they call it soccer many times it is overshadowed by other national sports. Over the last few years though it has grown in popularity, especially with the growing list of popular stars moving to the MLS.
This is probably why Xbox announced they have done a deal with their local MLS team Seattle Sounders FC, to put Halo 5: Guardians on their new kit. These new kits will be seen on Sunday in what is expected to be a packed stadium when the Sounders take on LA Galaxy on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
The reveal of this new Halo 5: Guardians-themed kits will coincide with a week of events that celebrate the game which is set to be released October 27, exclusively on Xbox One.
“We are honored to partner with Sounders FC and have Halo 5: Guardians participate in this historic moment,” said Bonnie Ross, Corporate Vice President at Microsoft Studios and head of 343 Industries. “We have so many Sounders FC fans at the studio, and we’ll be there in the stands cheering for them alongside the Master Chief and Agent Locke.”
The new shirt change with the Seattle Sounders FC will be the first time an MLS team has altered their shirt design mid-season and will also see a change in their “home colours” for the first time too. Normally described as “Rave Green” the black design is in fact based on their third kit. For fans wanting to get hold of the kit, the only chance they will have is to grab one of the 200 that will be available at the CenturyLink Field Pro Shop on match day.
“Initiatives like this are what make our partnership with Xbox so engaging and innovative,” said Sounders FC Owner Adrian Hanauer. “For the first time in league history, our respective organizations are collaborating to alter the primary partner mark on the front of our jerseys during a regular season campaign. We’re thrilled to work with Xbox on this project, and hope that fans of both Sounders FC and the Halo franchise enjoy seeing our partnership come to life in new and creative ways over the next week.”
