One of the first questions anyone asks about a virtual reality headset is about the quantity of games that will be available on it. As far as PlayStation VR is concerned, Sony wants you to stop worrying about it.
Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida was interviewed during Tokyo Game Show 2015 where he was inquired about the upcoming titles that are being developed with PlayStation VR in mind.
His reply will hopefully put your worries to rest because Yoshida revealed there are a number of titles being developed for the headset.
Of course, we know exactly what we are developing, and we are developing a variety of titles. Many, we have not disclosed as yet. In showing games from different studios, there are games for core gamers for VR. We could show more from first party, but luckily, third party is very active now, and I’m very happy to see that almost all Japanese publishers are working on VR versions of their IPs like Final Fantasy XIV and Danganronpa and Hatsune Miku.
He also pushed for small scale developers to try their skills at it because even with lesser resources you can make a great experience if you have the right idea in mind, he says.
In fact, he went on to say that indie developers can even join the launch lineup for PlayStation VR if they start right now.
