Destiny: The Taken King King’s Fall Raid Guide – Boss Tips, Chests Locations, Gear

Complete walkthrough of Destiny: The Taken King King’s Fall Raid with boss battle tips, hidden chests locations, weapons, armor and other gear drops.

The said raid takes place in the Dreadnaught which will pit Guardians against the notorious Oryx, the Taken King. Luckily there are no prerequisites missions that you need to complete prior to the raid.

Destiny: The Taken King King’s Fall Raid

All you need to do is to hit Character Level 40, Light Level 280, invite your buddies, and begin playing. There are a total of 3 bosses in the raid: the Warpriest, Golgoroth, and Oryx, the Taken King.

You can also consume consumable items such as Indomitable Light, Heroic Valorous Light, Moldering Shard, or Heurisitc Light in order to increase your loot gain during the raid.

When we talk about the loot and random drops in the raid, here is a taste of what you can obtain while playing the raid:

King’s Fall Armor

Warlock Armor

  • Take That – Orb pickups create the chance for temporary bonus precision damage to Taken
  • Old Gods’ Boon – Increased Armor while carrying the King’s Fall relic
  • Mortal Medicine – Gain a boost to Recovery per grenade kill. Stacks for 20 seconds
  • Buddy System – Faster weapon reload while in an Aura
  • Glutton – Receive bonus melee energy for each enemy standing nearby you when you get a kill
  • Run for Your Life – Increased Agility while Torn Between Dimensions
  • Fists Flying – Gain a boost to Agility per melee kill. Stacks for 20 seconds

Placing the Orbs
The first thing that you need to do is to pick up the orbs and insert them in the first statue at about the same time.

By doing so, 2 more orbs will near the far-right and far-left sides of the area. At this point, the remaining players need to rush towards the newly spawned orbs and bring them to the center of the area.

However, one thing that you need to consider is a couple of barriers trying to slow down the orb-carriers. At this point, the non-orb-carriers need to destroy the barriers as soon as possible to aid the other players.

This whole procedure needs to be completed for a total of 6 statues; with players getting less time after each successful orb insertion.

Once again, do note that you need to insert orbs are almost the same time.

Boarding the Hive Ship
After successfully inserting the orbs, 2 players need to jump from ship to ship to reach the other side of the area.

The remaining 2 players need to stay behind and disable the forcefield, one on each plate located on the left and right side of the area.

By taking turns at the plates located on left and right side of the area, all players need to board the Hive ship and get across the other side of the area.

Opening the Door with Deathsinger’s Power
After coming to the other side of the area, you need to divide the entire fire-team into 2 groups. One of the groups needs to go to the left-side and the other one on the right-side.

Both of these groups need to obtain a buff that will protect them from the constant damage pouring out in the side rooms; this will last for about 30 seconds in total.

The person who loses the protective shield will acquire 10 stacks of Deathsinger’s Power.

In order to lose these stacks, the player will need to dash towards the central area and stand on top of the central platform until all stacks are gone.

Once this is done, the player needs to return to the side-room and repeat the entire process until the door is fully charged and is opened.

Activating the Plates
In order to activate the plates, you need to defeat the Major Knights in the area – one Major Knight for one plate. Do note that there are a total of 3 Knights who spawn on a timer.

Another thing that you need to understand is that the glyph sequence is random and changes after every wipe. However, the next plate in the sequence gets highlighted behind the corresponding tombstone with a red pillar.

One more thing to bear in mind is the Brand of the Initiate which is buff which will grant your allies and you the ability to deal damage to the boss which will expire in about 10 seconds. Killing adds will reset the timer which will kill you if it reaches 0.

Lastly, do note that in order to survive the Oculus, you must stay in the shadow of one of the tombstone in the area – used tombstones are immediately eradicated after the phase.

Your entire fire-team and you need to share one tombstone else wise you will not be able to beat the soft enrage.

Boss Battles in King’s Fall

Golgoroth Boss Battle
Your entire fire-team and you need to stand at the door with the candles in order to proceed ahead. After 6 deaths, the entire fire-team will get blinded and wiped.

The orbs in the ceiling will drop a pool which is a buff which will increase the entire team’s damage dealt to the boss by 10 times.

The idea is to shoot the boss’s back which will allow your fire-team to get his gaze for about 15 seconds.

Getting the boss’s gaze is important in the sense that it will prevent more adds from spawning in the area.

In case you wish to complete the entire boss fight easily, you need to divide your entire fire-team into 2 groups: 4 damage dealing players and the rest 2 as distracters.

Ir Anuk Sisters Boss Battle
For this boss fight, you need to stand on the platforms one at a time starting to the left-side of the spark in the sky and moving in counter-clockwise direction.

4 players out of your fire-team need to stay on the platform while the other players collect the sparks and confront the black sister after lowering her shield.

After this, every player in your fire-team needs to head inside the shadow teammate’s shield and start dishing out damage to the boss, but do not kill her – this is very important.

Defeat the adds in the area and head back to the platforms starting to the left-side of the spark in the sky and moving in counter-clockwise direction.

Once you have done it, you need to deal damage to the other sister and repeat the entire process until both of the sisters are defeated.

Oryx Boss Battle
Before starting the final boss fight, you need to ensure that you’re at least at Light Level 295.

The first thing that you need to do is to wait for the boss to slam the platform. You need to post up on side of a platform and dish out as much damage as possible to Lighteater Ogre before jumping down to the central platform.

After you come down, your team’s defender needs to cast a protective shield which you’ll use in order to defeat the Emblem Knight.

After you have successfully staggered back the knight, you need to detonate the bombs from the dead ogres, but make sure to avoid the light blast from the Oryx.

A little ahead, your entire fire-team will be teleported to an alternate dimension where you will have to face a Shade of Oryx Ultra.

It’s very important to defeat the shade which will teleport your entire fire-team and you back to the original platform.

To sum it all up, you need to continue to generate loads of orbs for your defender and Void Bow Ultra Attacks to keep the cycle going.

In addition to this, make sure that you do not jump in the middle since the Tomb Ships in the middle of the area will instantly kill you. Good luck, Guardians!
