PlayStation VR Will Approximately Cost $400, Says Andrew House

Sony CEO Andrew House has confirmed that PlayStation VR will cost the same as a new gaming console.

Planning on buying PlayStation VR? Well, make sure you have enough to purchase a second console. This is because Sony officials have revealed that the head-mounted device is going to cost the same as a gaming platform!

Andrew House, who is the group chief executive officer and president at Sony Computer Entertainment was recently talking to Bloomberg about the company’s future plans with relation to Virtual Reality as well as well as their competition with Microsoft where he talked about the technology as a rulebook changer.

VR rewrites the rule book on how you can create games. You’re seeing a large amount of interest and work happening among smaller teams, because it’s possible to create something in VR that is very simple but still very magical.

Indeed we are expecting VR based games to be magical once the developers get the hang of it.

Even more importantly, House was inquired about the expected price of the PlayStation VR to which he surprisingly responded well. While he did not share a specific amount, he clearly stated that the headset is going to be priced the same as a new console.

Seeing how we are talking about Sony here, this puts the best guess at $400.

What do you think of that price tag, is it justified for PlayStation VR or not?
