You might have already picked up news about the PlayStation Vita port of Final Fantasy Agito being cancelled; however, Square Enix wants to divert all those resources towards making another game, Final Fantasy Type-0 Online.
The publisher announced the online game during their Tokyo Game Show 2015 press conference and also confirmed that instead of any handheld consoles or home consoles, this one will be released to PC and mobile.
Hajime Tabata, the legendary director of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD and Final Fantasy XV revealed the game at the event saying that Type-0 Online was going to take the place of Agito thanks to Perfect World, the Chinese development studio.
Final Fantasy Type-0 Online is going to exploit the hack and slash genre while trying to present a more grown in version of the multiplayer component of Final Fantasy Type-0.
A couple of screenshots were also shared by Square Enix and we have added them to the gallery below for you to see.
As far as the release schedule of the game is concerned, the developers have only mentioned the mobile version saying that you can expect it to land in Japan in spring next year.
Before the release of the game a beta test will be held for it in China too. Last but not the least, a western release of the game is being considered although it is not official.
Check back later to find out more about the PC release and the launch of Final Fantasy Type-0 Online in the west.
