Tales of Zestiria Locked at 30FPS; Hits 1080p on PS4, PC

Tales of Zestiria frame rates have been locked at 30FPS while the PS4 and PC versions both will run at 1080p.

Tales of Zestiria is being prepped for a release in the western market, and so it was time for the developers to share more about the game’s performance on different platforms.

There are some good things and some bad ones (maybe?) you should know. For instance, both the PC and PlayStation 4 versions of the game are going to run at 1080p. Moving on, the PC version is even going support resolutions of up to 4K. Here’s an excerpt from the developers’ latest update on the game:

Both the PC and PS4 version will run at a 1920×1080 resolution with PC supporting resolutions up to 4K. Full HD here we come! They also benefit from many other graphical improvements: the draw distance is 2x times what it is on PS3, with the PC version having a “far” option improving it even more.

Shadows, anti-aliasing and textures also got upgraded. The PC version will allow you to switch between low, medium and high for all the preceding options.

On the downside, the developers of Tales of Zestiria have locked the game at 30FPS for all the platforms.

The reason cited by them was that if they had not put a cap on it, the frame rates would have had negative effects on things like “animation, balance, difficulty, and overall fighting mechanics tuning.”

Tales of Zestiria will be out on October 20.
