Destiny: The Taken King Exotic blueprints guide to understanding weapon blueprints, year-1 and year-2 exotic weapons.
Destiny: The Taken King Exotic Blueprints
In this guide, I’ve touched both year-1 and year-2 weapons along with methods using which you’ll be able to upgrade your current gear to new attack levels.
However, one thing that you need to understand is that year-2 exotic weapons are only acquired after hitting Level-40. Another thing to bear in mind is that not every weapon from year-1 is carried to year-2 list.
Understanding Exotic Weapon Blueprints
‘Exotic Weapon Blueprints’ are essentially exotic weapons that you’ve already acquired in the game.
You can view a complete list of all your already acquired weapons inside the Hall of Guardians – head inside the door on your right-side, behind Ikora Rey, the Warlock Vanguard.
After accessing the kiosk, you’ll see your year-2 Primary, year-2 Special, and year-2 Heavy on the Collection Tab #1 as engrams.
Collection Tab #2, on the other hand, will show your year-1 Primary, year-1, Special, and year-1 Heavy, but not as engrams.
One important thing to bear in mind is that you won’t be able to acquire year-2 exotics. Moreover, weapons like The Last Word and Red Death will get year-2 buffs, while Gjallarhorn and Ice Breaker will remain at year-1.
Understanding Year-1 Exotics
Collection Tab #2 in the Hall of Guardians shows you the weapons that you discovered during the game’s year-1, but what’s the purpose of all this?
Let’s suppose that you’ve a year-1 version of Ice Breaker in the Hall of Guardians, but dismantled it from your inventory, you’ll still be able to acquire it.
In case a year-1 weapon appears in the Hall of Guardians, you’ve it forever. The only problem is that you’ll have to re-purchase it using some Glimmer and an Exotic Shard – provided you dismantled it!
Understanding Year-2 Exotics
Year-2 exotics also work similar to year-1 exotics in the sense that the weapons you’ve already discovered appear as weapons and undiscovered as engrams.
Let’s supposed you have year-1 version of The Last Word [by simply having the weapon] and have it maximum attack rating for year-1; it’ll also appear in your Collection Tab #1, but with a higher attack rating.
This means that you won’t have to wait for the weapon to drop again in the game and can walk in the kiosk at the right moment to acquire the weapon again with higher attack rating, but do note that you’ll have to pay the required Legendary Marks.
As for the weapons that are appearing as engrams are the one that you have to discover yet. Following is a list of confirmed weapons that are being brought from year-1 to year-2:
- The Last Word
- Red Death
- Monte Carlo
- Bad Juju
- 4th Horseman
The list below details all the weapons that are not being transferred from year-1 to year-2:
- Universal Remote
- Ice Breaker
- Super Good Advice
- Vex Mythoclast
