From Software’s massive successful PlayStation 4 exclusive action RPG Bloodborne has managed to sell over 2 million copies since its release back in March.
Sony made this announcement today as a part of the Tokyo Game show. The title was a huge hit back when it was released, and managed 1 million sales within a month. Obviously, the sales did slow down, but the game has still managed an impressive amount of sales within half a year, especially considering that it was a single-platform exclusive.
The two million count includes hard copies sold on discs and also digital downloads.
In addition to this, Sony also revealed Bloodborne’s upcoming DLC, called The Old Hunter. Apart from a few generic statements that every Bloodborne player would be aware of, Sony did not reveal much, apart from its availability on November 24 for $19.99 on the PlayStation store.
From Soft’s Hidetaka Miyazaki created Bloodborne as a spiritual successor to the Souls series, utilizing similar mechanics with slight tweaks and a completing different setting to create a grasping, terror-filled experience. Miyazaki has since then shifted his attention to the third installment in the Dark Souls series, with Dark Souls III expected to be released in the first quarter of next year.
Fear the Old Blood, fellow hunter.
