Dark Souls 3 is going to incorporate many elements from the first two games; according to Hidetaka Miyazaki.
One feature that is going to be implemented in Dark Souls 3 is the ability to ‘Fast Travel’ right from the start of the game; in order to ensure that the experience is convenient.
Moreover, Weapon Durability will be there, but the director is looking to create a middle-ground between the first two games:
I personally think the weapons in Dark Souls 2 break a little to easily. This was implemented intending for the players to try out many types of weapons, but even so, I felt they broke too quickly. However, in Dark Souls 1, they didn’t break enough, and so I’m hoping to find a good balance for Dark Souls 3.
Coming to Hidden Walls, they will appear once attacked instead of simply pressing the Interaction Button:
This is due to my thinking behind this type of feature. I like to have coincidences happen during battles, or accidental reveals due to swinging weapons around or randomly shooting arrows. I want to implement this sort of surprise discovery in a natural way when playing the game.
Lastly, New Game + will be similar to Dark Souls II, but players will not be able to use Bonfire Asetics to change the game difficulty.
Dark Souls 3 is scheduled to release in ‘Early 2016’ for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.
