Only a couple of days ago news went viral that Rise of The Tomb Raider was not going to feature a multiplayer mode – to the dismay of numerous fans – however, for some reason it appears that Microsoft has more to say on the matter and the game might actually allow competing against friends in some capacity.
A Microsoft spokesperson recently issued an official statement on the matter in what looks like a bid to clarify their stance on the game’s multiplayer component or the lack thereof.
According to the representative, Crystal Dynamics is going to talk about how you can include your friends in the experience and “compete with” them:
Crystal Dynamics are hard at work on Rise of the Tomb Raider and excited to deliver an amazing experience on November 10 (for United States and 13 November for United Kingdom). In the coming weeks and months, stay tuned for more info on all things Rise of the Tomb Raider – including how players will be able to extend their single-player campaign and compete with their friends.
So far that is all they have revealed about it, which is why we are unable to discuss how exactly the competitive component of the game is going to work.
I guess we will have to keep a check on Rise of the Tomb Raider developers in the coming months in order to know more.
