Last year Sledgehammer released Call of Duty Advanced Warfare, which gave players the option to transfer data such as stats between current and last-gen consoles.
Fans were hoping to see an identical feature this Treyarch’s Call of Duty Black Ops 3, but unfortunately, that isn’t the case. David Vonderhaar was asked about the feature being in Black Ops 3, to which is replied with a simple “no.”

This means that if you plan on buying Black Ops 3 for last-gen consoles, but will also be buying a new console in the near future, you will have to start all over again in Black Ops 3.
Data not transferable between consoles is nothing to be surprised about, however, Black Ops 3 even coming to last-gen platforms is surprising in itself as most developers have moved on to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with their AAA games. However, Activation is still holding on to PS3 and Xbox 360. Black Ops 3 will mark their third cross-gen COD release.
Black Ops 3 is slated for a November 6 release on all major platforms.
