Report: Nintendo NX Specs Are Comparable to PS4/Xbox One, Will Be Shown in Spring 2016

Nintendo NX will have specs comparable to PS4 and Xbox One. Will be shown during Spring 2016.

Rumors surrounding Nintendo NX spread like wildfire and it is hard to tell which one actually holds weight over the other. Just recently we came across details saying the NX won’t have any optical drive, meaning an all digital platform is being planned by the company.

Now, we hear that Nintendo NX is not only a console, but it is actually a platform. Nintendo will introduce a new console, but there will also be something to replace 3DS, as part of the NX project.

It seems Nintendo is boosting cross-platform with the idea of creating a single network. We have already seen some games released on both Wii U and 3DS, so from the looks of it, things are being taken a step-further.

Also, Nintendo will support Wii U even after the release on NX. However, don’t expect them to keep doing so for long.

3DS will also keep getting new games, but bigger projects will be moved to its successor. Specs from the next Nintendo console or handheld aren’t revealed, but rumor has it that NX console will be comparable to PS4/Xbox One.

In my personal opinion, I think it is risky having specs comparable to consoles that are already in the market for almost two years; and by the time NX is released, they will be even older.

Best thing is to aim for specs higher than PS4 and Xbox One.

As for the handheld, it is being said that it will be comparable to PS Vita, with a screen resolution of 720p. NX project will be shown in Spring 2016.

All of this is not confirmed by Nintendo, so nothing can be said for sure.
