Microsoft have released a new trailer to highlight some of the new games that are coming to the console. Calling it the most awarded games line-up, there are definitely some good games on show in the video.
While there is some focus on exclusives such as Rise of the Tomb Raider, Scalebound, Forza Motorsport 6 and Halo 5 Guardians there are also games included that will be available on the Playstation 4 too. The point is though to highlight the strength of the Xbox One moving into 2016.
When we think back to 2013 and the big reveal of the Xbox One as an “entertainment” device, gamers weren’t impressed with the lack of focus on games and it took quite some time to fix the image of the console. The fact the performance of the machine was a problem too hasn’t helped.
Jump a few years later though, the Playstation 4 may be seen as the more popular console but Xbox One hasn’t given up the fight and is coming back strong. With Rise of the Tomb Raider as a timed exclusive, and the likes of Halo 5 Guardians, Gears of War and Scalebound being only available on the console the reasons for buying one are becoming more numerous.
It will be interesting to see how well the console sells around Christmas and heading into 2016 and to see what future plans Microsoft have for the console. Bringing it closer to the PC with Windows 10 and potentially improving gaming connections between the two would be a smart move, and the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility was a masterstroke in getting gamers attention.
Looking at this trailer, they also show that the rest of 2015, and moving into 2016 will be a strong time for fans of the Microsoft console.
