Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Day-One Update is Now Available

Kojima’s final MGS masterpiece, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and last-gen consoles. As with most games, Phantom Pain is getting a day-one update too, that is now live.

The day-one update isn’t a massive patch so it wouldn’t take long to download it. The update is said to be 420MB on PS4 and 150MB on PS3. Also, an unconfirmed report suggest that on Xbox One, day-one patch in 750MB. If that is the case, be sure to let us know in the comments.

Version 1.1 of The Phantom Pain brings more features and enhancements for FOB (Forward Operating Bases)

  • Additional features and enhancements for FOB missions.
  • Overall optimization and stability enhancements.

Metal Gear Solid V is a pretty stable game as I have played for over 48 hours without any issue, so don’t read too much into “stability enhancement” and “optimization.”

After a long wait, The Phantom Pain is out and being a long time fan of this amazing franchise, I couldn’t be happier. We have reviewed the game and gave it 9.8 out of 10. Our reviewer Omar Majeed said:

The game’s structure is mission based progression; like Peace Walker, with Ground Zeroes’ control scheme and ability to plan out your mission and choose the weapons, strategy and route to take, ala the Hitman series.
