With only five days until the release of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, the wait is no doubt unbearable for those waiting for the arrival of one of the biggest games of the year. Unless you were lucky enough to be one of the people who managed to obtain an early copy.
In what should truly be the last trailer for the game, we have the Accolade version. This is where Konami show off all the 10/10 and 5 star reviews the game recieved, along with such quotes as “Best game of the year” and “One of the best action games ever.” Do you think you’ll agree when you’ve had the chance to play it?
To get a taste of how well the game has been received you just have to look at Metacritic which scores the game at 95. The reviews quoted on there do seem to use a slightly high level of hyperbole, but it just adds to the excitement of what Hideo Kojima is providing gamers with. Now the question once again will be, what he will do now?
The only person who will know the answer to this will be the man himself, and maybe even Konami. After the game has received such stunning praise would they be foolish enough to simply give up on the man who has provided not only the game, but the series as a whole? Common sense seems to say they’ll try keep him with the company, if that is even an option anymore.
Whatever happens with Kojima, it is more than likely that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain is going to be named the game of the year. The fact that many were saying the same with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt just a few month ago show just how big a year this is being for games, and it’s not over yet.
