In MMO games there is a vast amount of statistics built up about the gaming habits of the players. They reveal some interesting findings that reveal some of the strengths of the games.
With World of Warcraft, MMO-Champion have been looking at some of these statistics and analysed just what they mean. In one of their latest reports they took a look at the class representation in the game, at least up to patch 6.1. This meant looking at a sample of millions of players and their class choices.
As you can see from the graph they reveal Hunter is the obvious winner. Druid comes in second, then Warrior, Death Knight, Paladin, Mage, Priest, Shaman, Warlock and Monks having the smallest amount.
It will be interesting to see how these statistics change with the latest updates that are coming to the game, or if they will change at all. In other statistics that they looked at character Race with Humans coming out top, and Goblins being at bottom.
With World of Warcraft: Legion coming soon it will be interesting to see if there will be any impact in the choices that players make about their characters. With the coming of the Demon Hunters will many choose these characters instead? I’m sure that Blizzard will be watching carefully to see just how Legion impacts the game.
Blizzard are obviously hoping for World of War Craft: Legion to be a hit with the fans, they need to keep the subscriber count high, especially when there is so much choice in the MMO world now. If World of Warcraft doesn’t live up to all of the hype it creates over its expansions, then fans will obvious look to other places for their RPG fix.
