Nintendo NX Getting New Achievements System, Suggests New Patent Filing
Nintendo is hard at work on Nintendo NX and it appears that everything they are working on in relation to that has an underlying idea of being new or unique. Apparently, for that reason they have filed a patent for what looks like a new achievements system.
The new patent was filed with USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office) on August 13, 2015 and relates to a system that will be used for recording as well as sharing footage of the achievements being unlocked.
From the looks of it, the new system will also allow users to attach a message to the achievements they are sharing – bragging rights – on a social network.
While we understand that this new system could also work with the Wii U, that is highly unlikely because almost all of the new patents filed by the company lately have been related to Nintendo NX.
Another reason to believe this is that since it is only a patent right now, by the time we actually get the system we would probably also have Nintendo’s new console in our hands too.
Needless to say, all the other mainstream consoles have an achievements system apart from Nintendo and it was high time they worked on something similar.
That being said, here’s to hoping that this patent gets through to the final product because when the Nintendo NX comes out it really should have an achievements system.
