There seems to be a simulator for everything now, for some reason they are popular. We’ve had farming simulators, truck simulators and now prepare for Professional Lumberjack 2016.
What is strange about these simulators is the fact that they can strangely be fun. UK Truck Simulator as well as the Euro version by SCS software is probably a game that shouldn’t be addictive, but for some reason it just catches the imagination of the person playing it. Less a game about driving, it is about managing resources and taking the correct route to get to the destination on time. For some reason it worked, and hooked people.
Then we have Farming Simulator, another game that proved popular. In an age where gaming is meant to be about explosions and action, sometimes finding the right strategy to run a successful farm is a nice relaxing change of pace. This is probably where Professional Lumberjack 2016 has taken root. The fact that Professional Farmer 2016 is also coming out around the same time should be no surprise.
Coming to Playstation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Playstation 3, Professional Lumberjack will be released November 30, a Wii U version will come later. It will see you manage a crew of lumberjacks, create a prosperous sawmill and expand the woodland business in a world based on realism. This means that your success will be dealing with the different seasons and handling issues found while collecting the correct wood.
To find success the player has to understand the trees, know which ones to cut and be able to identify the right tool for the job. I’m hoping that they can license the Monty Python Lumber Jack song for this one, but I doubt it.
