One of the playable villains in Star Wars Battlefront is non-other than the iconic bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Developers at DICE say that they have a special place for Boba Fett in their hearts, and have designed this character to be a “dreaded force in battle.”
Boba Fett uses a jetpack to fly around maps, giving him an edge in battle as he can shoot while airborne. He’ll be using the trademark EE-3 Carbine Rifle, two wrist launchers.
One of these wrist launchers is used to fire rockets, while the other is for Flame Blast attack when dealing with the enemy at close range.
Giving Boba Fett the ability to fly might sound like an unfair advantage, but developers found a way to balance things out. Boba Fett will have to ground himself once his fuel runs out, he’ll have to wait for a short period of time before taking-off again.
While working on Boba Fett’s in-game arsenal, developers took inspiration from the original trilogy.
As originally portrayed in the films, Boba Fett has a wealth of gadgets at his disposal but we only see him use a fraction of these in the films. There’s much more than the jetpack and blaster rifle going on. Boba Fett’s got a disintegrator pistol, a flame pack in one arm, rockets, dart launchers, and even lasers. So there was a lot to choose from before we wound up with the final loadout.
If you like to get up close and personal during combat, than Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader are probably more suited for your playstyle. However, if you like to keep a distance from the enemy and move around the maps, Boba Fett is the right choice for you.
Star Wars Battlefront comes out in November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
