The surprisingly successful Fallout spinoff mobile game Fallout Shelter is now available on the Android platform.
Initially only available for Apple’s iOS, the popular Fallout Shelter is currently available for Download on Google Play Store.
Fallout Shelter’s success stunned the gaming world, as it generated earnings of $1.5 million in the first two weeks of release back in June, shortly after the reveal of Fallout 4 at the E3 2015 conference. One of the most admired features of the game is not restricting player progression through almost mandatory in-app purchases – which exist, but are entirely optional and not detrimental.
Alongside the release for Google’s Android OS, Bethesda will also be adding new content into its mobile game. Both iOS and Android versions will now have a robot butler called Mister Handy and new enemies to deal with.
Fallout Shelter reached number fourth spot in iOS games last month, and though it has slightly dipped in popularity, it is expected to grow further with the release on Android devices and the new in-game content.
Fallout Shelter can be deemed as a successful marketing strategy for the promotion of the much anticipated Fallout 4 from Bethesda, which will be released this November for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
