Star Wars is as huge as it has ever been right now, and we are spoilt for choice when it comes to games being released and re-released. One game that continues to be popular is Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
A rumour is currently circulating that the game could be looking at a new HD update, for Xbox One and Playstation 4. Cinelinx, the site which has claimed this “scoop” have made it clear that there is no official confirmation yet. So make of that what you will.
What is interesting though and could give the rumour some legitimacy in the future is Phil Spencer’s reaction to somebody asking him about the possibility. He had this to say:
@JacobTaylorN7 I like the idea. No idea how the rights would work on that now with all the changes. I'll put a vote in.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) February 26, 2014
As you can see, while not confirming anything he would love to get the game on the Xbox One. So if there is a possibility could it happen sometime in the next year?
In the Cinelinx article they do mention that an announcement would be made in the fourth quarter of 2015. As we know this is when Star Wars frenzy will be at its height with the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Star Wars Battlefront so it would be perfect timing for an announcement like this to be made.
We’ll have to wait and see what comes of this rumour though, as without official confirmation all we can do is wait and hope for some positive news from this speculation.
