It was inevitable that following the wonderfully surprising announcement of Xbox One backward compatibility certain classic games would start to take advantage of the feature.
The latest addition to the continuously growing set of backward compatible titles is Bayonetta, the classy hack-and-slash title that features the attractive witch who goes by the same name. Engadget-Japan was the first to reveal this news. The original title was released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, developed by Platinum Games, and received good feedback.
However, its successor, Bayonetta 2, is a Wii U exclusive and received immensely high reviews, with noticeable improvement in gameplay and graphics to its predecessors. Sadly, as the sequel would not have existed without Nintendo’s supported, Atsushi Ibaba has confirmed that Bayonetta 2 would not be making it to any other platform and remained exclusive to the Wii U.
The list of Xbox One backward compatible games continues to grow as time goes on, and we expect other AAA titles from the older generation console to be included in the next few months or so. Check back for more news for such titles.
