From Software has grown vastly in reputation in recent years due to their brilliant Souls games and Bloodborne. With Hidetaka Miyazaki now as president of the game development company, they’re set to reach new heights under their inspirational and highly creative leader.
After the mighty success of Bloodborne earlier this year, From Soft revealed the third installment in the Dark Souls series at the E3. At Gamescom 2015, the action-oriented RPG was playable, and unsurprisingly managed to impress everyone who had a hands-on experience.
For this very reason, Dark Souls 3 has been awarded as the Best Role Playing Game at Gamescom this year. The award was given after close examination by various independent international experts, and Dark Souls 3 managed to win against 4 other potential titles that were shortlisted for this award.
Namco Bandai, the publisher of the Souls franchise, released the following statement in response:
“It’s a huge honour for us to win this very well respected award, especially against such fierce competition. Our commitment towards DARK SOULS has never been stronger and we are proud to see our efforts being rewarded. We want to take this opportunity to thank our fans for their support throughout the years. We can’t wait to show you more!”
– André Persson, Director of Communication & Events at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe.
Dark Souls 3 is slated for an early 2016 release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
