Back at E3, Square Enix revealed a new Hitman game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. After a rather disappointing Absolution, fans wanted developers to go back to the roots, where planning your approach and using the right tools is the way to go.
In the latest issue of Edge Magazine, creative director at IO-Interactive Christian Elverdam spoke about the game and said that players will require lots of planning and necessary tools to complete missions. Developers would like you to become master tacticians.
We’ve moved away from trying to create new abilities for Agent 47, since we want tools and planning to be a bigger part of the game. You have a loadout and obviously whatever you bring into the level with you is also a choice that you have to make. We want Hitman to be more of a creative game, about figuring out what’s going on.
We wanted to try to send that message that we’ve tried to condense everything into what we believe is the best possible version of Hitman.
Hitman will release on December 8 and although it sounds like an early access type of a thing, developers aren’t calling it that. They will keep adding more missions and content in the following months, so you are paying full price of an incomplete game.
The game adopts an episodic design where it will continually introduce new assassination contracts for players to complete.
