The upcoming Xbox One exclusive Crackdown 3 recently received a gameplay demo – featuring completely destructible world – at Gamescom 2015, but it seems like completely destructible world is only exclusive to the game multiplayer mode.
While speaking with IGN; Dave Jones said that the destruction relies on being connected to the cloud which means it is a multiplayer-only feature:
Yes, [destruction is] exclusive to the multiplayer mode. You have to be online for multiplayer, and at that point we can connect to the cloud and really expand the experience.
He also said that while playing the singleplayer mode, players will not be able to destroy buildings as it goes against the grain of what Crackdown 3 is:
No, you can’t [destroy buildings in single-player], and in some respects that goes against the grain of what Crackdown is. You’re meant to be saving the city, so we really wanted to create a new multiplayer experience that bent that.
Crackdown 3 does not has a concrete release date as of this instant, but Microsoft has clarified that the game’s Multiplayer Mode will be available to play sometime during summer 2016, as suggested by this Tweet:
Had a blast showing #Crackdown3 this week! Can't wait for you to jump into MP in summer ’16 – will share more on full game’s release soon.
