Konami Digital Entertainment, the video game making arm of Konami, has announced that the company managed to acquire an exclusive UEFA 2016 video game license.
Previously, in light of all the controversy surrounding Konami, rumors circulated that EA might grab the license of UEFA this time around. However, as we now know that isn’t the case.
The close partnership between Konami and UEFA continues.
Speaking about the deal, Erik Bladinieres, European Brand Director of Football of Konami Digital Entertainment BV said:
We are very proud to be working for the EURO 2016 with UEFA.The PES series is famous for football in its purest form, and it is developed by a team that really loves and understands Football.
The EURO 2016 is a gathering of the greatest and most talented players of European football, and we will do our utmost to develop the product, which represents football at the highest level.
The deal will allow Konami to work closely with UEFA to develop the most authentic UEFA 2016 experience in Pro Evolution Soccer.
The actual event, is being held in France, where 24 teams will compete in the initial groups stages, before moving on to the knockout round.
As for Pro Evolution Soccer, the next installment in the series, Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 will release later this year for all major platforms.
