When looking at product pages for games sometimes things are revealed that probably were not meant to be there. This is rare, but does reveal some interesting revelations about upcoming games.
One such discovery appears to have been made by GamerHeadquarters when looking at the Gears of War 4 page. What was noticed was that some weapon skins from Gears of War: Ultimate Edition were stated to be compatible with Gears of Wars 4. Further to this they managed to collect some screenshots which you can see below.
As you can see, the important screen is the one where it states what games these weapon skins are available for. The “Animated Weapon Skin Pack 2” is compatible with both Gears of War: Ultimate Edition and Gears of War 4. This could be an error and the pack is not compatible between versions, or this could be a secret just waiting there to be discovered by an eagle-eyed gamer.
What also makes this interesting is that the skins come as part of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition only so you’d have to buy it to get them if you want them for Gears of War 4. Could this be an incentive of some kind to make people want to buy this HD upgrading of the original game?
It will be interesting to see if these new weapon skins are still compatible when both Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. If so, it also raises an interesting connection between the engines used for both games and how easy it is to use assets between the two.
What are your thoughts on these weapon skins and the compatibility between the two games? Would you buy Gears of War: Ultimate Edition so that you can use them in Gears of War 4? Let us know your thoughts below.
