Another Gamescom 2015 reveal has been confirmed and this time it will be for World of Warcraft. Blizzard will be revealing their latest expansion on August 6, and will livestream it to the world.
While they do not offer much information on the actual announcement, this doesn’t mean that fans of the game aren’t excited. One thing noticeable from comments though is hope for an improvement on the last one.
The last main expansion for World of Warcraft, Warlords of Dreanor while given a positive response left some players wanting more. Now with an announcement in August, it is likely the latest expansion fits the yearly release that World of Warcraft aim for now. This may mean more content, but also a higher price to pay and possible in-game purchases. It could also hint at a November release date.
With Blizzard also gearing up for the launch of Legacy of the Void, Starcraft 2’s final expansion Gamescom could be a major event for Blizzard. It is expected that Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone will have a presence too with their own upcoming expansions, so can World of Warcraft offer something big enough to not get lost in all the other exciting news from Blizzard? We’ll have to wait and see.
There were rumours of a possible name “Council of Glades” but this appears to have been disproven, so we may have to wait until the actual event to find out what is in store for the hugely popular MMO. It will have to be big enough to keep subscribers attention, and with the movie edging ever closer the future is at least bright for the World of Warcraft.
