Xbox One preview members, after downloading a minor update, faced frequent disconnections from Xbox Live which has now been fixed, thanks to another minor update.
A small number of Xbox One users reported frequent disconnections from Xbox Live after an earlier patch of the preview version of the August system update. The issue restricted users from staying online and required a hard reset to get fixed, albeit temporarily.
In order to fix the issue, Microsoft has rolled out another update which fixes the Xbox Live disconnection issues, but brings another one in its stead; a frozen Kinect image due to Xbox Fitness. Here are the patch notes; courtesy of Program Manager Emily Hanson:
- OS Version Released: xb_rel_1508.150722-2200
- Available: 11:00AM PT 7/25 (7PM GMT 25/7)
- Xbox Live Disconnection Issues: This update contains a fix for the previously known issue where users were being disconnected from Xbox Live, and would require a hard-reset to get back online.
- Xbox Fitness: When resuming from Instant-On mode and with Xbox Fitness suspended, you may encounter a frozen Kinect preview image, and Kinect interaction will not resume. Workaround: Hard reboot the console.
